I want to share a video featuring Daniel Pink. It covers the essence of his book Drive: The Surprising Truth About What Motivates Us. It’s one of my favorites, and I recommend it pretty much anytime I find myself providing advice on rewards and recognition.
The video is a few years old, but it couldn’t be more relevant in an age where we are always looking for ways to bring about the best in ourselves and our teams. The surprise, is that what really motivates people isn’t what we have traditionally been taught.
It’s 11 minutes long (perfect for a training session or for group discussion), covers a lot of ground, and serves as a great primer for his newest book.
