UTSA Alumni: Social Service Night

Capture

I might be a little too excited about this.

In a few weeks I’ll be participating in my first UTSA Alumni Association event WHILE doing some good work with the San Antonio Food Bank!

I signed up for this because it looks like the perfect opportunity to blend two of my key personal goals 1) to get involved with the UTSA Alumni Association, and 2) to volunteer my efforts in a cause that helps the people in our community who need it most.

This has been a long time coming.

I’ve volunteered in other areas at some capacity or another for as long as I can remember, especially at the SHRM Chapter level. During this time frame,  I’ve longed to contribute my time to the university where I nabbed my degrees and to organizations that are providing direct assistance to the San Antonio community.

For some reason getting involved consistently in this way has eluded me for years. I had the best intentions; I just never followed through on them.

This time is different.

In fact, part of the reason I’ve decided to write about it is because it adds another level of accountability to the effort. Heck, I’ll even go as far as committing to write a follow up post about the experience!

If you’re a UTSA alum. you should definitely do this!

For now, I’ll rest easy knowing that I’ve taken the first step by signing up for this event. It’s a start! I’m looking forward to meeting and working with my fellow UTSA alumni!

Below is information and a link about the event in case you are interested in learning more.

More to come…
