Video: Creative Ideas Happen When You Stop Checking Your Phone

In the early days of this blog, I shared a video on “Where Good Ideas Come From“. The video below follows along the same lines but takes a more casual approach. In fact, this whole video can be summed up by simply saying that we should be “bored” more often if we want to come up with truly creative ideas.
Here’s a quote from The Atlantic:
“Remember what it’s like to be bored? A New York public radio show asked thousands of its listeners to stop checking their phones and see where their minds took them. New Tech City host Manoush Zomorodi takes James Hamblin to Science House in Manhattan to experience purposeful boredom—and see what creative breakthroughs came.”

By the way, if you want to track just how many times you check your phone there’s an app for that.

    1. You know, the only thing I don’t like about this app is that it requires location data to be used at all times. What’s up with that? Why can’t it just tell me how often I check my phone? Or give me an option to turn off location settings? Meh. Oh well.
