If you want to change the way people work for the better you have to know how to execute your ideas and convince people that their work and personal life will be made better by embracing the change.
In a nutshell that was my message to the students and members of the UTSA-SHRM chapter on Tuesday where I presented on the basics of project management and change management.
It’s not enough to have the best idea or the perfect solution.
To truly give employees the best opportunity to live and work to their full potential, we all need to do the hard work of planning, executing, and persuading.
Change doesn’t happen at scale all at once, it happens one person at a time. We need to organize our efforts to this end even when it’s far easier to force change upon others through mandate.
I’m looking forward to the work these future HR and business leaders do in this arena!
