Keep working. Keep pushing. Keep moving.
Somehow I find that message in “Run Boy Run”, by Woodkid. It’s a song that is eight years old now, but only recently worked its algorithmic way into my Spotify stream. It sounds of hard times and the persistence required of all of us right now.
I hear fear, struggle, and resolution in this song. Themes that were theoretical at the start of 2020, at least at the level we are experiencing now, are literal and found in songs that were perhaps overlooked long ago.
Check it out:
“Run boy run! This world is not made for you. Run boy run! They’re trying to catch you. Run boy run! Running is a victory. Run boy run! Beauty lays behind the hills”
