50 Things I’m Looking Forward to in 2022
Anticipating an experience can be as much fun as the experience itself. As we embark on a new year, here are fifty things (big and small) I’m looking forward to in 2022:
Things *in general* getting better
Seeing my brother and sister in person more often
Running my 14th half marathon
Continuing our family zoom sessions
Reconnecting with the friends and family I’ve lost touch with
Volunteering in the community
Deepening my meditation practice
A trip to New York City
Continuing to learn and grow with my coworkers
Attending the Association for Talent Development national conference
My parent’s 50th wedding anniversary
New clothes – seriously, I’m still making my pre-pandemic stuff work somehow
Being more intentional about taking time off throughout the year
Facilitating Dare to Lead sessions at work
Having lunch in our newly renovated employee cafe
Taking some sort of art class
My 4th, 5th, and 6th Covid vaccine *half kidding*
Getting back into swimming in the summer
My three year anniversary at H-E-B
Participating in an in-person yoga class
Visiting the Texas coast in the spring or summer
Getting rid of the junk I’ve accumulated the last few years
Keeping my house plants alive and buying more
Taking more photos and sharing them
Starting a quarterly reflection practice
Writing and sharing more often
Getting involved in the UTSA community
Watching the Spurs get better
Long walks to clear my head
Completing my goal to visit every state park within 2 hours
Climbing Guadalupe Peak
Reading more books than I read last year
Tinting my car windows – the Texas sun is no joke!
Getting a dog
A destination hike
Continuing to get better at cooking and baking
Quiet mornings
Mentoring someone
Figuring out how to use all the features on my new camera
The music I’ll discover and play endlessly on repeat
Maybe, perhaps, possibly, going to a UTSA football game
Learning new things
Thousands of kettlebell swings
Camping for the first time since I was a kid
My first trip to Big Bend
Quality time with family and friends
Visiting a museum
Attempting to make conchas for the second time
